Talking a leak

US President Donald Trump has said he’s “100 per cent” willing to testify under oath about his interactions with fired FBI director James Comey.

Speaking on Friday, one┬áday after Comey delivered a scathing indictment of the president at the Senate Intelligence Committee, the president again denied two key claims made by the former FBI director and labelled him a “leaker”. Ouch!

Trump said he never demanded a pledge of loyalty from Comey and never told Comey he hoped the investigation of Flynn would go away. Seems like someone is not telling the truth, here.

While Comey confirmed a lot of what Trump had claimed about their interactions, Trump said other parts of Comey’s testimony “just weren’t true”. Trump said the testimony on Thursday underlined that there was “no collusion, no obstruction” and that “he’s a leaker”.

President Trump would not rule out a claim that there may be tapes of his conversations with Comey. “Well, I’ll tell you about that maybe sometime in the very near future,” he said at a press conference.

Comey has been asked to provide any notes or memoranda related to discussions with Trump, to the ongoing investigation into Russia’s involvement in the election.
