On Saturday the 8th of April, the Swan Valley’s Houghton Winery was filled with crowds of vivacious, sun loving youngsters for the Hot Dub Wine Machine festival. The greens were covered with a large stage, pop up bars, food stands, and picnic rugs. The weather was perfect with not a cloud in the sky when first act, Falcona DJ’s came on stage in the early afternoon. The crowd then danced through acts such as Running Touch, Tina Says, Miami Horror, Crooked Colours and Young Franco. A momentous song of the night was when PNAU performed their hit track ‘Chameleon’, with the audience dancing and singing along to the vocals of talented ‘Shakira Marshall’. PNAU’s set well and truly kicked the night off, with the sun going down just as their set finished.

However, nothing could beat the star of the night, Hot Dub Time Machine. Perth was the final leg of his wine accompanied, festival – like tour, and he went out with a bang. Hot Dub Time Machine’s set started with snippets of the best songs from the 1950’s, and ran all the way through to the songs of today. Some of the memorable party tracks played included Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’, Backstreet Boys ‘Everybody’ and Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’. The night ended with some of the latest and best party tracks of today, and slowly Houghton’s was emptied out completely by 11 o’clock. Overall a great event in the Swan Valley and we hope to have Hot Dub back in the state again soon.
